Blessings
We are all God's children... |
Are you first, second, or third? It's doesn't
matter, but for this purpose, today we will focus on the blessings of a
firstborn, child. In the bible it states that the blessings are always passed
down to the eldest child in the family. Whoever is the first, they will receive
a bigger blessings (that’s does not mean God doesn’t bless other
siblings). However, there are times
when a PERSON refuses to follow God's instruction and He transfer the blessings
to one who is obedient, to Him. Nevertheless, if you choose not to accept what
God is given to you, it's own you! Be
mindful, that God can and will transfer the wealth to a more responsible
PERSON. For He is faithful, to those who
are faithful and obedient to Him.
Let look at the story of Jephthah(book of Judges
11), he was the first born son of Gilead. But because he was born out of
wedlock, his family pushed him out of his blessings. They told him, he has
nothing to inherit. Without any questions or problems, he left. Jephthah became
a might warrior and his family herd about how God was blessing. For some of
you, you might have left your family because of things they have done or said
to you. But it doesn’t matter! God say to forgive them and move on. If you get
caught up with all that is going on you will never see God’s glory in your
life. Stop! Complaining about what your family is saying and doing and how much
it hurts you and gave it to Jesus. Yes, Jephthah family members put him out,
but God still blessed him and in the end they had to seek him for help.
Let’s see what happen when Jephthah family came to him
“Jephthah said to the leaders of Gilead, “Did you not hate me and drive me from
my father’s house? Why have you come to me now when you are in trouble?” 8 The
leaders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “That is why we have returned to you now.
So you may go with us and fight the men of Ammon. You will be the head of all
the people of Gilead.” 9 Jephthah said to the leaders of Gilead, “If you bring
me home again to fight the men of Ammon and the Lord gives them to me, will I
become your head?”(Judges 11:8-9). Didn’t God allowed Jephthah’s family
to come to him for help and he helped. So when your family member upset you and
they come back to you for help, your job is to help them because God is the one
who rewards you.
Ask yourself, what is unfair, the fact that you are
the responsible one or the fact that you are first born. Or the fact that
everyone seeks you for advice. Or the fact, that you fail to acknowledge, that
God has put you in a position to lead. Either way the choices are yours. Don’t look at the unfairness but look at
greatness. If God didn’t think you could have handled the situations, He would
never make your family member asked you anything! Be blessed and know that you are great.
