Self-Talk

Sometimes, in your life, no one will be by your side. Are you someone who loves to help others and make yourself available to extend your time, resources, finances, etc.? But when you find yourself in a situation where you are looking for others to help or assist you, they are nowhere to be found. Yes, you called them, but they are too busy. You ask them to help you, and they suddenly don’t have? Yes, those friends and family you thought had you back, but in times of need, you are by yourself, angry with them because you thought they had you. Learn to let go of the hurt and anger today before it kills you.

A Bible passage says that God will never leave you or forsake you (Deut. 31:3). It is a true scripture to examine when things are not working. Sometimes, the only people you can speak to are yourself and God. I have discovered that people will use and misuse you based on their own needs and agenda, and that’s why healing is important.

When you don’t heal or go through your process to become a better version of yourself, you will most likely attract others who are broken. The issue with attracting broken people is that they are in no position to help you see things in a different light. Most of the time, you guys will focus on the brokenness of life instead of the possibility of what can and should be. It’s like the blind leading the blind.

You must learn to spend time talking and encourage yourself during difficult moments. You must learn to be your cheerleader at times. You must learn to encourage yourself when all seems lost and hopeless. You must learn not to quit on yourself because others have given up on you. You have to encourage yourself by saying positive things and working towards it. Remember, if you need professional help, seek it.

Some steps to encouraging self:

1.     Forgive yourself

2.     Forgive others

3.     Repent (if you are a Christian)

4.     Speak positive things about your life

5.     Be there for you

6.     Embrace yourself

7.     Seek help when needed

8.     It’s okay not to be okay

9.     Enjoy your journey

Remember my favorite phrase, “You cannot give someone what you don’t have, and they cannot give you what they don’t have.” Let it reignite in your spirit that healing is a process requiring you to be an active participant. Nothing will change in your life unless you decide to put in the work and become a better version of yourself. Learn to encourage yourself and embrace yourself when no one cheers for you. Today, I want to encourage you to talk with yourself and decide to change what you don’t like.

Stay bless.
