Friendship in Our Family

We are Family!!!!
 Friend in Our Family
Many of us have heard the song that says “What a friend we have in Jesus”. But what does it mean to be a friend? According to the English dictionary it defines friend as “a person one knows, like and trusts”. If we say, we love God and we never met him, why is it so hard to be a friend to our family? God has given to us. We must first realizes, that someone of us wanted nothing to do with Christ, until we had an encounter with Him. For it is true, of His words, which says no man come on to Me, unless, I called them. The task is to pray for our family and ask God to remove the veil from their eyes, so they too can hear the call. Remember, none of us was born saved.
The word of God, said we all have sinned and fall short of his Glory. Let’s look at Rehab she was an outsider. It is said she agreed to hide two of God’s people who was spying out the land. Due to her kind act, she requested that her family and self be saved when God's people take over the land. We all know, that her life style would have cause her family not to be seen or even associated them self with her. In today’s world, she would be known as “the street girl”. Thank God, He didn’t use that to disqualify her. I say all that street sense earned her a ticket for her and her entire family to be in heaven. Nevertheless, I believe she prayed for her family. She might have said, I can wait for them to see when God changes things around for me, so I can bless them and finially earned some respect.

For someone of us we are the outsider in our family, the street boy or girl, thief, the black sheep etc. It doesn’t matter. What does matter is obtaining our tickets to save our family.  Many times the phrase“blood is thicker than water” is only use when a situation arises. Why wait tell them! I think that Rehab’s family was saying the same thing after God saved them. I could hear them say “O, blood is thicker than water” they no longer saw “street girl”. I also believe they sat down and caught up with old times. It’s like when you haven’t seen a friend in a very long time, you want to know everything. Where they have been, are they married etc.? It is the same thing God wants us to do with our family. Just as He looked beyond our faults and saw our needs, we must do as the one, we claimed to follow.
You may be saying how can we do this? Be willing
We can do simple things such as
Hello
Making a call, send a text message,
send an e-mail, leave a voice mail, etc.
Use simple words
I just called to say, I love you
I just called to say, hello
I hope all is well etc.
Time spent with a regular friend can be time spent with your family
Prayers: Dear Lord, I thank you for the friend in my family. May your will be done in Jesus name. Amen.
My discovery of the word Friend:
Fun time to
Renew love and trust that
I (God) am changing
Even when
Nothing looks
Desirable
The Lord has begun working on your family, to be your friend. What are you going to do?
To be continued……………….
